Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of Glyph's Terms of Service. It sets the rules for what you may and may not do with the Glyph messaging platform. Violations can result in suspension or termination of your account, as described in Section 7 below.
1. Consent requirements
You must have express consent from every recipient before sending them a marketing or bulk message through the Service. Consent means the recipient clearly opted in to receive messages from you — for example, by checking an unchecked box, texting a keyword, or giving verbal consent that you recorded.
- Purchased or rented contact lists are not consent.
- Consent is specific to you — it does not transfer from another business.
- You must keep records of consent and provide them on request.
2. Opt-out and STOP/HELP handling
- Every marketing message must include a clear way to opt out, such as "Reply STOP to unsubscribe."
- STOP keywords (STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) must be honored immediately — automated opt-out is active on every Glyph SMS number.
- HELP keywords must return your business name, how to opt out, and a support contact.
- Honor all opt-out requests within 24 hours; never message an opted-out recipient again unless they re-consent.
3. No spam or unsolicited bulk messaging
- No spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages of any kind.
- No misleading sender identification — messages must accurately identify you as the sender.
- No snowshoe messaging, number spoofing, or attempts to evade carrier filtering or rate limits.
- Respect carrier and platform throughput limits; automated sending must be paced to what carriers will accept.
4. Prohibited content
You may not send or store content that is:
- Illegal under any applicable law.
- Sexually explicit (SHAFT — sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco — content is restricted on SMS and requires additional carrier registration).
- Hateful, harassing, threatening, or abusive.
- Fraudulent or deceptive, including phishing, scams, and impersonation.
- Infringing on intellectual-property rights.
- Malware, viruses, or any content designed to damage or interfere with systems.
5. Voice and social channels
- Voice calls must comply with applicable telemarketing law (including the TCPA in the U.S. and applicable Do-Not-Call rules) and platform policies for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and other channels.
- Pre-recorded or AI-generated voice calls to consumers require prior express written consent.
- Follow each social platform's messaging policies — including conversation windows and message templates where required (for example, WhatsApp's 24-hour window and approved templates).
6. Your responsibility for compliance
You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to your messaging — including the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, state privacy laws, and carrier and platform rules. We provide tooling (opt-out automation, STOP/HELP handling, throttling), but compliance remains your obligation.
7. Enforcement
- Violations can mean suspension. Depending on severity, we may warn you, throttle or block your messaging, suspend your account, or terminate it.
- Carrier-initiated blocks or fines for your traffic are your responsibility.
- If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, contact us at legal@getglyph.io.
8. Reporting abuse
To report a suspected violation of this policy, email abuse@getglyph.io with the relevant message details.
